Our Portfolio Manager…

Robert H. Munsie

Mr. Munsie is the managing partner of RAM Capital Management LLC and has extensive and diverse experience within the equities market since 1980.

He received his stock-selection grounding as a Wall Street securities analyst. After several years of providing his research findings to institutional clients around the globe, he joined First Manhattan Co based in New York City. This firm is renowned for following the investment philosophy of Warren Buffett; in fact, its founder remains on the board of Berkshire Hathaway to this day. It was at this firm that Mr. Munsie gained the appreciation for employing securities analysis to identify "franchise" equity-investments. While this mantra seems simple it requires the intensive evaluation of all operating and balance-sheet aspects of a company, both from an historical and forecasting perspective. Central to this is the appraisal of management’s ability to implement and execute business plans that seek maximum return for shareholders.

Subsequently Mr. Munsie joined the equity divisions of Drexel Burnham Lambert followed by Lehman Brothers, where he was a member of the Global Equity Investment Policy Committee engaged in the review and approval of all equity investment recommendations for both the US and Europe. He also was engaged in the management of a pool of Lehman’s capital investing in US equities.

The sum of these experiences allowed Mr. Munsie to formulate an investment-style that incorporates both the objective nature of securities-analysis and the subjective nature of portfolio risk-management.  Mr. Munsie labeled this style "prudent-growth".

Armed with this indepth knowledge, and intent on executing this Prudent-Growth investment-style on behalf of institutional and individual investors, in 1995 Mr. Munsie founded RAM Capital Management LLC. During the ensuing 20 years the firm has successfully executed this style within both hedge and mutual funds, and within separately-managed accounts in spite of it being two of the most tumultuous decades in stock-market history.

Mr. Munsie, his wife and their two daughters reside in Rye, New York.
